I. Summary of the position:
The Communications Specialist is a mission-driven and detail-oriented team member who helps share the story of BRAVE Church with clarity, creativity, and purpose. This individual supports the execution of the Church’s communication strategy, ensuring all messaging reflects its vision, values, and Christ-centered mission.
Working collaboratively with the communications team, the Communications Specialist plays a key role in developing and delivering content across multiple channels. With a strong eye for brand consistency and quality, they assist in creating, organizing, and maintaining communication assets that strengthen BRAVE Church’s identity.
Guided by a heart for ministry and service, this role contributes to initiatives that engage congregants, increase awareness in the surrounding community, and help extend the reach and impact of BRAVE’s ministry.
II. Key Responsibilities:
Content Development & Communications Execution
· Draft and distribute church-wide and ministry-specific communications, including emails, text messages, and push notifications.
· Ensure all messaging reflects brand voice, mission, and organizational priorities.
Social Media Management
· Execute the communications and marketing strategy across all social media platforms.
· Schedule and publish content in alignment with the church calendar and campaigns.
· Track performance metrics, compile reports on reach and engagement, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Print & Resource Coordination
· Manage ordering of all printed materials, including banners, invitation cards, posters, business cards, and specialty paper goods.
· Proactively monitor inventory and reorder materials to ensure campuses remain fully stocked.
Project Coordination
· Support and manage communications-related projects, including interior and exterior building installations and signage updates.
· Coordinate timelines, vendors, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
Merchandise & Online Store Management
· Maintain and update the church’s online store, including product listings and inventory.
· Provide customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving order issues.
· Coordinate seasonal product updates on a quarterly basis.
Email & Inbox Management
· Manage multiple shared email inboxes, ensuring timely responses and proper routing of inquiries.
Website Management
· Maintain and update website content across all platforms (e.g., brave.org and braveacademy.org).
· Manage homepage banners, “For You” cards, and other feature content
· Monitor website performance, generate analytics reports, and recommend optimizations.
In-House Production
· Produce printed materials such as booklets, flyers, and other ministry resources as needed.
Signage & Paid Advertising Management
· Co-manage digital signage systems for both church and academy campuses, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with messaging priorities.
· Manage and optimize paid digital campaigns, including Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) platforms.
· Monitor performance and adjust campaigns to maximize reach and effectiveness.
Photography & Event Support
· Capture photos at services, events, and across campuses to support communications needs.
· Travel between campuses as required.
Additional Responsibilities
· Perform other duties as assigned to support the communications team and overall ministry efforts.
III. Experience and Knowledge Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field required.
• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or media relations required.
• Exceptional command of grammar, and proficiency in writing skills and ability to ghostwrite in different voices.
• Excellent editing and proofreading abilities. Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work with tight deadlines, and coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and email marketing software.
• Excellent track record of effective time management to ensure tasks are completed on time and correctly.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and organizational skills.
• Projects a professional image, able to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Steady, positive attitude, people-oriented, team player, customer service minded.
• Familiar with Microsoft Suite Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Applications a plus. Ability to learn and use RockRMS software.
• Willingness to work after hours or on weekends when needed.
